ADVANCE NOTIFICATION OF RESURFACING WORKS:
COOK’S HILL, STATION ROAD
GREENRIDGE AND CHURCH LANE, CLUTTON
Dear Resident
PLEASE READ – THIS IS NOT A CIRCULAR
We are writing to inform you of forthcoming resurfacing works, commencing Tuesday 1st June 2021. The works will extend the length as shown on the plan and will be carried out in phases, starting on Station Road at the junction of Venus Lane, working up and into Greenridge then towards Cook’s Hill, junction with A37 – 4 days
Church Lane will be completed on Monday the 7th June
Work will be carried out under a road closure from 07:00hrs to 19:00hrs and is expected to take up to 1 week to complete subject to the weather. Any cars parked within the closure may be removed from site so as not to delay works. At the end of each day’s scheduled work the road will be re-opened to traffic.
Emergency and pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the works providing it is safe to do so with access being controlled by Traffic Marshalls who will also be able to provide advice on likely access windows and possible changes to the programme as the works progress. It would be beneficial to provide advance warning to any deliveries or visitors you may expect during this period and to suggest they seek alternative routes (particularly HGVs) as there will be no through access of the site while the closure is in place. Bus operators have been informed and will be re-routing services where required during the works.
Bath and North East Somerset Council are working in partnership with our contractor VolkerHighway to maintain the Authority’s highway network. We are continuing to undertake necessary maintenance to ensure that the road network remains safe for key workers and those making essential journeys. Our contractors are following strict protective measures to keep themselves and others safe during the works. Please respect social distancing guidelines and allow them to carry out their roles.
